This Is Your Brain In Love by Dr. Earl Henslin Book Review

This Is Your Brain In Love
by Dr. Earl Henslin

{New Scientific Breakthroughs for a More Passionate and Emotionally Healthy Marriage}

When offered the opportunity to review This Is Your Brain In Love by Dr. Earl Henslin, I jumped on it. It is geared toward married couples that are seeking advice on how to understand each other and their current situations on a chemical level not just an emotional one. There is a few hints of spirituality scattered around but nothing overwhelming. I wouldn't expect it to grab the attention of teenagers or those that are pondering the issues related to their short term relationship. Of course- you do not have to be married to be in a long term relationship but this book uses the term marriage.

I found myself comparing the subject matter not to my current relationship, but to my previous marriage. In no way do I believe that reading this years ago could have saved my marriage, however, it made me look at certain situations from an angle that I never even considered. This book took a very logical and scientific approach to relationships that most people tend to over look. The majority of us are not wandering around thinking about our biology and how it affects those we love. I can honestly say I will be more aware of that aspect now.

A little bit self help, a little bit story telling, over all a pretty quick read. I finished this book in one weekend. The scientific babble and can be a bit wordy at times, but not so much that the everyday person will not be able to understand it. I will probably turn to this book in the future for advice should any issues arise.

Granola Gourmet Review & Giveaway

As January is coming to a close, chances are many people are already struggling to hold true to the New Years Resolutions that they made. Snacking for me is a real "diet" killer. Its hard to strike a balance between what I keep in the house that the kids can eat and what I allow myself to indulge in also. I think we finally found something that everyone enjoys!

Granola Gourmet  is a product that was created by a diabetic and his family. Frustrated by a lack of snacks that did not cause a blood sugar spike but also tasted good, they decided to make their own. Granola Gourmet was born. The boys and I received four great flavors to try out.

Ultimate Berry: Colden's Fav! He looked pretty unhappy when I took a bite.

Ultimate Cran-Orange: My favorite. It was like eating a cranberry orange muffin. Minus the guilt!

Ultimate Mocha Fudge: The boys and I each tried a piece after dinner. They were convinced it was desert!

Ultimate Fudge Brownie: Same thing as the Mocha Fudge. It was chewy and very fresh.

I love that this product is 100% Natural. They contain No Wheat, No Dairy and No Refined Sugar. They're Kosher and Vegan. They're also at least 75% organic. Very Low Sodium (15-35mg) 10-13g Whole Grains. 391-590mg Omega-3's. Suitable for almost everyone. Perfect for parents like myself that are trying to rule out a food allergy in a child. The healthy factor is important. But if it doesn't taste good, no one is going to eat it! You wont have that problem with these.

Time for your chance to check these out, too!

One winner will receive a 4 pack of Granola Gourmet bars that contains one bar of each flavor: Ultimate Berry, Ultimate Cran-Orange, Ultimate Mocha Fudge and Ultimate Fudge Brownie. U.S. residents only. Sponsored by Tomoson.com and Granola Gourmet.
