This Is Your Brain In Love by Dr. Earl Henslin Book Review

This Is Your Brain In Love
by Dr. Earl Henslin

{New Scientific Breakthroughs for a More Passionate and Emotionally Healthy Marriage}

When offered the opportunity to review This Is Your Brain In Love by Dr. Earl Henslin, I jumped on it. It is geared toward married couples that are seeking advice on how to understand each other and their current situations on a chemical level not just an emotional one. There is a few hints of spirituality scattered around but nothing overwhelming. I wouldn't expect it to grab the attention of teenagers or those that are pondering the issues related to their short term relationship. Of course- you do not have to be married to be in a long term relationship but this book uses the term marriage.

I found myself comparing the subject matter not to my current relationship, but to my previous marriage. In no way do I believe that reading this years ago could have saved my marriage, however, it made me look at certain situations from an angle that I never even considered. This book took a very logical and scientific approach to relationships that most people tend to over look. The majority of us are not wandering around thinking about our biology and how it affects those we love. I can honestly say I will be more aware of that aspect now.

A little bit self help, a little bit story telling, over all a pretty quick read. I finished this book in one weekend. The scientific babble and can be a bit wordy at times, but not so much that the everyday person will not be able to understand it. I will probably turn to this book in the future for advice should any issues arise.
